      Boondooma Dam

      The spillway repairs project strengthened the existing spillway chute at Boondooma Dam. The scope included installing anchors in the existing spillway chute, concrete lining the spillway walls and earthworks to stabilise the right hand side of the spillway wall.
      It also included:
      • Dewatering plunge pool average 8m in depth prior to works commencing, the removal and
      • relocation, in the dam and surrounding area, of all flora and fauna found
      • Filling of plunge pool to create access ramp with 40,000m3 of site won material.
      • Drill and blast approx. 55,000m3 of rock
      • Excavate and remove approx. 110,000m3 to stockpile
      • Drill and Install rock anchors (15,000m) ranging in size from 32mm dia to 75mm dia and
      • from 6m to 24m in length.
      • The FRP of approx. 5,500m3 of concrete to spillway chute floor and walls
      • FRP of concrete access road (2,850m2)
      • Associated drainage works including box culvert, concrete lined v-drains, rock drains
