Precast

Precast

Our precast team works with project managers, engineering consultants and clients to design, develop and deliver high quality precast products on time and on spec. Whether it’s helping communities recover from disaster, increasing the safety of cyclists, helping reduce driver speeds, treating and storing precious water resources or building intricate bridge structures, we have the products and solutions.

Fulton Hogan’s precast division, based in Ranui, Auckland, has 35,000m2 of manufacturing and storage space, configured in three manufacturing lanes and one laydown storage area. The team also provides a mobile yard service for larger projects across the North Island.

The demand for precast alternatives to in-situ works is increasing rapidly as designers, specifiers, constructors and their clients discover the multiple benefits. Fulton Hogan’s precast division creates an array of core and bespoke products for civil engineering projects, from bridges, to water infrastructure to roads – and much in between. Our inhouse design team creates products to suit most client specifications and requirements, and maximises value through early engagement, identifying innovations that save money and time, and minimise environmental impact.

Precast products

Super tee

Super tee

1025, 1225, 1525 and 1825 deep

Super tees are precast prestressed girders. They form a hollow void when the bridge deck is poured, reducing beam weight, increasing
the potential span and torsional resistance.

Hollowcore beams

Hollowcore beams

DHC & SHC Up to 900mm deep

Super tees are precast prestressed girders. They form a hollow void when the bridge deck is poured, reducing beam weight, increasing
the potential span and torsional resistance.

Double tee

Double tee

Double tees are precast prestressed units consisting of two legs and a flange. They can be used as pre-finished units for bridges and, when delivered with precast abutments, form an instant bridge. Single tees are also available.

Double tees are also used as suspended floors, and with the addition of a structural concrete topping, achieve very long spans. They are typically unpropped, fast to install and provide an instant working platform. They are particularly apt for civil projects such as reservoirs and plant room roofs.

Flat slabs

Flat slabs

Flat slabs provide minimum depth and fast construction. The units provide an immediate working platform which, with the addition of an in-situ concrete topping, gives a suspended floor with a flat, steel formed soffit.
Units can easily be shaped for structures such as roof panels for circular tanks.

Flat slabs are an economic choice for small bridges and can be designed and supplied with precast abutments. Units can be manufactured to various thicknesses and span up to 8m unpropped.

Bridge deck panels

Bridge deck panels

Precast deck panels enable rapid construction.

Supported on steel or prestressed beams, they can be supplied either as pre-finished units with in-situ stitches or tied together with a concrete topping.

Bridge and road barriers

Bridge and road barriers

Precast concrete median barriers are manufactured in moulded forms to exacting specifications. They may be temporary and removeable or permanently fixed into adjacent structures, walls, bridges or banks.

Transition barriers

Transition barriers

A transition is the connection between two safety barriers of different cross-sections or different lateral rigidity. We have various transition moulds and can manufacture to suit most situations.

Wall panels

Wall panels

Walls panels are supplied to many civil sites such as reservoir tanks, processing structures, bridge abutments, retaining and noise walls. Panels are manufactured to various sizes and finishes.

Retaining L-wall panels

Retaining L-wall panels

L shaped retaining walls are normally used for single loading applications where material is stored only on the heel side of the wall.

Beams and columns

Beams and columns

Precast beams and columns can be manufactured to any size and shape.

Recon blocks

Recon blocks

Recon blocks are typically used as retaining walls either as reinforced earth, with geo-grid between block layers, or as gravity walls by utilising the weight of the wall to retain the soil.

Manufactured to a range of shapes and sizes, the faces can also be textured and coloured, as required.

Rumble bars

Rumble bars address debris by way of the ‘shake down’ grids and are particularly suited to construction sites and quarry roadways.

Speed tables

Speed tables

Fulton Hogan’s precast division is leading the way in modular speed table construction. This pre-cast speed table, installed for Auckland Transport in Kumeu, took a single overnight shift to install. This compares with the two weeks typically required for traditional in-situ construction.
