Naseby Waste Water Filtration Beds

Fulton Hogan were engaged by Central Otago District Council to construct new wastewater filtration beds in the township of Naseby.

The innovative design by Stantec involved an automated fill and filter system to discharge the treated oxidation pond effluent to land.

This replaces the previous discharge into the local creek. The beds also used crushed glass as part of the filtration media.

The project demonstrates a great sustainability initiative in that the glass used in the media comes from bottles collected through the local recycling services.
