Fulton Hogan retained this contract in 2016 for another nine years. It covers 1,376km of unsealed roads, 509km of sealed roads, 176 bridges and 151km of footpaths.
This cost reimbursable contract model requires a high level of commitment to collaborative contracting from both the contractor and client, and a high level of transparency and trust, with demonstrated value from spending. Council and Fulton Hogan use the Systems Thinking method, focusing on removing waste to achieve value. There is a joint focus holistically over a 12 month period (ensuring work is carried out at the right time) and plant and resource are optimised (ensuring there is no down time within our workflow).
