A Christmas present for Hamilton

20 December 2024:

Despite finding a series of unrecorded underground services, Waikato has completed the Borman Road connection almost three months ahead of its February 2025 deadline.

Project managed by Marco van Dam, it is part of Hamilton City Council’s development of the northern suburb of Rototuna. The project involved upgrading and extending Borman Road (by 600m), upgrading Horsham Downs Road and linking the two roads with a new intersection. There were also 3 waters upgrades and a new shared pathway. Almost the entire Waikato business was involved – the maintenance team even helping with letter drops!

The rapid growth of this formerly rural area meant residential and commercial stakeholder numbers climbed from 700 at the start to more than 1,000 by the end.
