Fulton Hogan was appointed by Ertech the job of repairing and resurfacing the Barrow Island runway as part of the Gorgon LNG project. Barrow Island is a Class ‘A’ nature reserve and home to 24 species of fauna that are not found anywhere else in Australia. To comply with the Island’s world’s best quarantine inspection standards, everything was completely cleaned and wrapped in plastic prior to deployment to the island, including the mobile asphalt plant.
