Main Roads Western Australia

Main Roads Western Australia (Main Roads) is responsible for the stewardship and asset management of the State’s AU$36,000,000,000 road network of highways and main roads, including network expansion, traffic management and road user management.

With about 18,000km of highways and main roads covering 2,500,000km2, and with a diverse range of climate and road user needs, it is one of the largest geographically-spread road agencies in the world.

Collaborative contract

Southern Roads Services (SRS) is an alliance formed between Fulton Hogan and Main Roads Western Australian to provide a total solutions asset management service for our client.

In a collaborative contract with Main Roads, Fulton Hogan provides a total asset maintenance service for a 4500km road network in the Great Southern and South West regions of the state. The work involves road and bridge construction and maintenance, roadside maintenance, line marking, signage maintenance and repair, roadside facility maintenance, townscape works and a 24/7 emergency response service.

Exceeding stakeholder expectations

Fulton Hogan’s demonstration of understanding and exceeding stakeholder expectations – including client, residents and business owners – was a key factor to Main Roads’ decision to choose Fulton Hogan as its regular provider of maintenance to the region’s roads. Fulton Hogan has worked closely with our client since 1998 as Road Care, a 10-year joint venture civil maintenance contract. In 2006, both parties decided to transform the contract by forming an alliance under the Southern Roads Services banner. In 2010, Fulton Hogan secured the South West/Great Southern Integrated Service Arrangement (ISA) with Main Roads WA.
