Fulton Hogan has reported a strong result for the year to 30 June 2026.
Chair Dean Hamilton said “Australia had reached a new level of scale, with all three operating streams delivering year-on-year growth and profit now evenly balanced between Australia and New Zealand.”
Australian delivery highlights spanned major road projects including the Coomera Connector in Queensland, specialist defence and airfield work across remote locations, the Iron Bridge Airport project in Western Australia, renewable energy and port infrastructure, and major water projects including wastewater treatment plants and multi-year Sydney Water programmes of work.
In New Zealand, Fulton Hogan had another solid year.
“Our focus in New Zealand continues to be on the efficient delivery and maintenance of essential
infrastructure across roading, airports and water.”
Highlights included progress on SH1 Papakura to Drury; Kā Huanui a Tāhuna – Queenstown Alliance; Ōtaki to north of Levin; runway resurfacing at Dunedin and Invercargill airports, and continued growth in water sector programmes from Auckland to Dunedin.
“None of this would have been possible without our people and their commitment. Fulton Hogan employs 10,200 people across New Zealand and Australia, and we are proud that more than 2,700 of our team also own shares in the company.”
Investment
The company had its highest ever level of capital expenditure, reinvesting NZ$389 million during the year to strengthen delivery capacity and resilience across both countries.
Priorities included quarry resources, fixed and mobile asphalt plants, fleet renewal and a majority stake in a specialist directional drilling business in New Zealand.
Leadership
Mr Hamilton acknowledged Graeme Johnson’s first year as Group CEO.
“Graeme has continued to bring clear leadership, deep knowledge of our business and a strong focus on our people, customers and long-term performance. The Board is delighted with the way Graeme has led Fulton Hogan through his first year in the role and positioned the company for its next phase of growth.”
Key results for the 2026 Financial Year:
- Revenue of NZ$7.3 billion
- NZ$430 million net profit after tax
- NZ$389 million invested in capital expenditure
Outlook
Mr Hamilton said demand for essential infrastructure remained positive, although geopolitical and economic uncertainty continued to affect supply chains, customer budgets and the timing of projects.
“Our geographic diversity, balanced portfolio and ability to draw on our own people, materials and equipment give us confidence that we can respond well as opportunities arise,” he said.
