Delivered in Auckland Airport’s busy operational landside environment, the Laurence Stevens Drive SP1 project required meticulous planning and execution to maintain 24/7 access for businesses delivering airside services.

Fulton Hogan implemented complex staging, including seven barrier traffic switches, temporary driveways, and uninterrupted day/night construction to minimise business impacts.

Detailed stakeholder engagement and clear communication ensured reliability for both domestic and international terminal operations. The roundabout upgrade was completed using a ‘super week’ of 24/7 works, delivering new lane capacity, upgraded stormwater, watermains, and deep-lift asphalt pavement, all without disrupting airport access.

Safety, flexibility and collaboration were paramount, leading to zero lost time injuries and the successful delivery of critical infrastructure within one of New Zealand’s most vital operational settings.
