Fulton Hogan is proud of its long-standing partnership with Christchurch International Airport Ltd (CIAL) and its continued successful delivery of the Airport Wide Annual Pavement Maintenance Works (APMW).

Over the past thirty years, our dedicated team has delivered critical pavement maintenance and upgrades across the airport’s airside infrastructure, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of one of New Zealand’s busiest transport hubs. The annual programme delivers thousands of tonnes of mill and mix, patch repairs, rejuvenation, and the construction of new concrete hardstands—all completed within strict operational windows and planned around flights.

Innovation and sustainability have remained at the forefront of our approach. Fulton Hogan has implemented advanced pavement solutions, including the use of polymer fibres, recycled asphalt products, and PlastiPhalt—a cutting-edge material incorporating recycled plastics. Our commitment to safety and quality is demonstrated through rigorous planning, daily communications, and robust quality assurance processes.

Our expertise in managing complex, high-risk environments—such as working around live underground services like the Airways electrical system and aviation fuel system—has ensured the ongoing success of the APMW programme.

The project has also received industry recognition, including the NZ Airport Awards – Large Airport – Infrastructure Award for CIAL APMW 22/23, and being named finalists in the Fulton Hogan Good Work Awards 2022 for Partnership with Customer.
