Fulton Hogan Delivers Sustainable 3Waters Asset Management for Christchurch Airport
Fulton Hogan continues to deliver high-performance facilities management for Christchurch International Airport Ltd (CIAL), overseeing the operation and maintenance of the airport’s critical 3Waters infrastructure. Now in its fourth year, the contract reflects a long-term commitment to sustainability, compliance, and operational excellence.
Comprehensive Scope of Services.
Under this contract, Fulton Hogan manages potable water, wastewater, and stormwater systems across the CIAL campus. Responsibilities include SCADA monitoring, compliance reporting, asset renewal planning, and emergency response. The team ensures continuous supply of safe drinking water from source, pump stations and while maintaining reticulation networks.
Performance and Achievements.
- Supply of safe dinking water and compliance with Drinking Water Standards NZ (DWSNZ).
- Continuous live SCADA reporting and dashboard of plant operations.
- 24/7 operational support and emergency responsiveness to support critical airport infrastructure.
Innovation and Sustainability.
Fulton Hogan has implemented several initiatives to optimise delivery:
- Installation of a 22kW solar panel system on PWTP2, integrated with SCADA to monitor and report on energy harvested.
- Deployment of a valve exerciser unit to improve emergency readiness.
- Hosting and administration of CIAL’s GIS Portal for real-time asset data.
