1 December 2025:
We were delighted to host Prime Minister Chris Luxon in Dunedin to see some of the $20M of capital investments the company is making in the city.
These include a new bitumen wharf line from Port Otago, a newly automated emulsion plant and a new asphalt plant due for commissioning in 2026. The asphalt plant will more than treble capacity to 140 tonnes-per-hour to meet the needs of Otago, Central Otago and Southland.
“For the PM to take the time was appreciated because this sort of investment is the foundation of New Zealand’s future infrastructure growth and greater resilience in existing infrastructure,” Chief Executive Graeme Johnson says.
Mr Luxon also visited Fulton Hogan’s Dunedin Laboratory where materials and formulations are tested both for Fulton Hogan projects and for other companies.
Fulton Hogan’s Dunedin Regional Manager Chris Jones says it was a source of pride to be able to show the Prime Minister what is happening in Dunedin, particularly as it is representative of Fulton Hogan’s investment across the country.
“Sometimes it takes a moment like this to pause and reflect on the scale of the team’s initiatives and their significance for our communities.”
Dunedin also has a special place in Fulton Hogan’s heart, as the city of the company’s birth 92 years ago.
