Major Milestone Reached On Hurstbridge Train Line Upgrade

Excellent news for the Heidelberg (NEPA) team, who recently reached a major milestone on the Hurstbridge line upgrade project. Over the weekend of 23 – 25 February, the team successfully lifted and installed a 70 tonne bridge beam above Burgundy Street in Heidelberg, which will form part of the new track duplication alongside.

The Heidelberg team did an incredible job lifting and installing the bridge that was the culmination of months of hard work and preparation. As an eager crowd watched on, the beam was installed using a 350 tonne crane.

Special mention to the Heidelberg engineering team of Mick Kerr, Saudah Saib and Isaac Poole, who have done a great job working together to pull off the well-executed installation.
