Adelaide Airport T2 Apron & Taxiway Overlay
Due to Adelaide’s hot climate, aircraft-induced shear stresses can push asphalt stability to its limits, resulting in severe deformation of runway and taxiway surfaces as well as the irreversible loss of runway grooves. As such, Fulton Hogan saw this project as an ideal opportunity to utilise its proprietary binder JetBind® in the asphalt mix for the overlay.
JetBind® is a specially developed bitumen binder that is ideal for runway, taxiway and apron surfacing designed to withstand:
- High tyre pressures
- Channelised traffic
- Resistance to extreme temperature variations as experienced in Adelaide’s seasonal climate changes
