Fulton Hogan / Stevenson women to fore at Extractive Awards

22 March 2024:

Fulton Hogan subsidiary Stevenson Aggregates was centre stage at the NZ Women in Extractives Awards held in Hamilton on Wednesday (20 March 2024).

Special mention goes to Stevenson’s Environmental Compliance Manager Tara Edwards-Tusa (pictured left) for winning the Kristy Christensen Memorial Award for championing diversity.

As well as environmental compliance, Tara is a kaiārahi – or navigator – for Stevenson Aggregates and is the inaugural co-chair for Te Ara Tika, the Māori steering committee established by Fulton Hogan in Auckland.

Tara leads the advancement of Te Ao Māori across the companies in Auckland and is seen to have the leadership skills to guide Stevenson Aggregates to a place of cultural inclusion, understanding and diversity.

Congratulations also to Stevenson Aggregates’ Rosie Toto-Croucher and Jo Young, finalists in the Emerging Star and Leader of the Year award categories, respectively. Bonnie Walker from Fulton Hogan Nelson Quarries was also a finalist for the Kristy Christensen Memorial award.

Aggregate and Quarry Association chief executive Wayne Scott says the event organisers were “blown away” by the strength of the nominations.

“Some of these women are trail blazers who have paved the way for others to join the industry and we thank them for that. Accepting diversity and valuing inclusion is important to a healthy and safe workplace.”
