Fulton Hogan delivered the Ray Emery Drive Reversal and Common Service Trench (CST) project for Auckland Airport , enhancing landside infrastructure within a critical operational environment. The works included earthworks, drainage, and installation of a new CST, housing LV and HV power, communications, water and gas. Pavement reconstruction involved concrete sub-base, AC20 and AC14 asphalt, linking with existing terminal roads. Intelligent Traffic Systems, electrical upgrades, new traffic signals, street lighting, and pedestrian infrastructure improved safety and efficiency.

Complex staging and sequencing ensured uninterrupted traffic flow and stakeholder access, utilising variable message signs (VMS), temporary footpaths, steel barriers and targeted road closures. Fulton Hogan self-performed 43% of the project, collaborating with specialist subcontractors including Dickson-Gray Electrical, Northpower and Construct Civil. Robust stakeholder engagement, focused safety management and tailored communication supported affected businesses and commuters throughout delivery. Environmental management, sustainability initiatives, and continual quality assurance were central to the project, ensuring high standards and responsible resource use. The result is a safer, more resilient and future-ready road corridor supporting ongoing airport operations.
