Taranaki Region announces sponsorship deal

Fulton Hogan’s Taranaki business will sponsor the Taranaki Rescue Helicopter Trust for the next three years.
The sponsorship will be used to pay for equipment for the trust’s land-based Alpine Rescue Team. The team of volunteers is responsible for undertaking rescue missions in treacherous alpine and bush environments.
It will be renamed the Fulton Hogan Rescue Team and the company’s name has been added to the helicopter’s doors. Several senior managers attended the announcement of the high-level sponsorship in New Plymouth yesterday.
Regional Manager Bob Wilson said we are committed to the region for the long term and the trust’s work that helped keep the community safe fitted in superbly with Fulton Hogan’s values.
“The Rescue Helicopter crew and volunteer teams work tirelessly for the community and as a company we wanted to acknowledge the service they provide. We felt it was the right thing to do for the community.”
Bryce Barnett, Chair of the Taranaki Rescue Helicopter Trust, said the trust is delighted. “Our Alpine Rescue Team regularly undertakes rescue missions which require costly equipment, such as winches and night vision goggles.
“Fulton Hogan’s sponsorship will be extremely valuable to ensure our busy land-based rescue team continue to have the equipment they require to undertake these often risky rescues.”
Both Bob Wilson and Graeme Johnson, CEO New Zealand regional business, welcomed the chance to meet the volunteers and thanked them for their work.
