Road maintenance, asphalt supply, laying & traffic management for Northland
Fulton Hogan creates, connects and cares for communities; building the roads, ports, airports, infrastructure and property which brings people together. We build communities literally from the ground up, starting with our own network of quarries, complemented by our asphalt, emulsion and pre-cast plants.
Fulton Hogan provide comprehensive services for the residents of Northland from its two bases in the province, at Whangarei and Kaitaia. With 80 years’ experience as a supplier of contracting services, we understand the needs of the residents of New Zealand’s most northerly region and are able to provide services tailored to meet those needs.
Road maintenance and emergency response
Fulton Hogan offer both routine road maintenance and an emergency response capability in Northland. The community benefits from routine road maintenance tasks such as street sweeping, maintenance of signage and minor road repairs. We also rapidly deploy our teams after major incidents or extreme weather events to do whatever is required, such as highway resurfacing and repairs and rehabilitation of bridges, to ensure there is as little interruption as possible to people’s lives.
Connecting New Zealand’s least urbanised region through superior asphalt supply and laying
Asphalt supply and laying is of particular importance in Northland: it is the country’s least urbanised region, with 50% of its population living in rural areas, and the communities therefore rely on the road network to keep in touch with each other. Our asphalt supply processes produce high specification asphalt and bitumen designed to provide longer life and better performance in high use road areas, such as intersections and roundabouts. Our asphalt laying teams work across the region to maintain road surfaces which give its residents excellent ride quality.
Managing Northland’s traffic
In concert with our road maintenance services, Fulton Hogan also have great experience in providing traffic management. Communities are kept safe and traffic moving as we quickly react to any hazards on the road network, setting up graphics and road markings to reflect changed driving conditions. We work with government agencies and local authorities to devise traffic management systems around events such construction projects and major sporting occasions to reduce congestion, keeping the people of Northland moving and negating any impact on the region’s productivity.
