Fulton Hogan

Melbourne civil construction and road maintenance

Fulton Hogan creates, connects and cares for communities; building the roads, ports, airports, infrastructure and property which brings people together. We build communities literally from the ground up, starting with our own network of quarries, complemented by our asphalt, emulsion and pre-cast plants. From the Australian head office in Melbourne, Fulton Hogan expands Melbourne’s infrastructure with major tram, airport, and road and civil construction projects that are built to last. Through the large-scale supply of superior bitumen and asphalt, to providing a full range of water and road maintenance services that support community priorities, Fulton Hogan keeps Melbourne moving.

Civil construction in Melbourne

In Melbourne, civil construction and renewal has long been a priority, and Fulton Hogan plays a key role in some of its most important civil construction projects.

A renewed recognition of the importance of Melbourne’s transit system has seen modernisation of fleets, extensions to tram lines, and more emphasis on accessibility. Fulton Hogan’s contribution to Melbourne’s tram system renewal has been civil construction projects to remove old track, install new electrical conduit, and lay new track and pavement in sections of High Street, Swan Street, Elizabeth Street, St Kilda Road, and Mt Alexander Road.

Other Melbourne civil construction projects include 20km of asphalt laid on EastLink—a major freeway connecting 40% of Melbournians—and additional lanes, bridge widening, and resurfacing for the M80 Ring Road, a key part of Melbourne’s road freight infrastructure. Fulton Hogan is a recognised authority in civil construction for other transit modes, and reconstructed the concrete pavement, and completed the runway asphalt overlay and a significant airfield lighting upgrade at Melbourne Airport.

Water, suburban, and road maintenance for Melbourne

Fulton Hogan knows that its expertise in road building—construction, aggregates, surfacing, and project management—also supplies all the knowledge needed for planned road maintenance services and refurbishment projects.

Contracted road maintenance services for the City of Port Phillip include maintenance to drains, footpaths, signage, and street furniture in addition to roads, an arrangement which has been renewed and which has lasted for over a decade.

Vegetation control, drainage, and minor capital works are just some of the services supplied to Melbourne Water, in a contract that covers Melbourne Water drainage from Drouin to Baccus Marsh. Road maintenance by Fulton Hogan saves money and safeguards roads and assets for Melbourne suburbs, councils, and organisations.

Fulton Hogan is also a major supplier of quarry products Australia wide. Servicing customers from five locations around the country, we can supply superior quality road base and aggregates, bulk fill, specialty sands, railway ballast, asphalt mixes and gabion rock. We literally build Melbourne and Victoria from the ground up.
